Hot foil stamping uses a combination of heat, pressure, and a foil film for a specialty printing process that produces an image on a substrate. Hot foil stamping is also called hot stamping, dry stamping, foil imprinting, or leaf stamping.
Hot foil stamping uses dies or metal stamps and the heated dies seal a thin layer of metallic foil onto a surface. Once heated, the raised surface of the die presses the foil against the ribbon material with enough pressure that the foil sticks to the ribbon leaving the desired image. |
